Beam Studio software virus issues

Both Microsoft Defender and McAfee detect security issues (virus/trojan) with Beam Studio. Why is this?

The first time I downloaded BeamStudio, I think I got a message that it was from an unidentified developer. This was a year ago and no downloads recently have said that. I also run macOS so my messages would be different.
