Silent mode option

#1

The original Prusa i3 MK2 has a feature called “Silent Mode”
This feature enables the user to switch between high power mode and silent mode at the touch of a button.

Although the Flux 3D is not particularly loud this looks like a great option for night time printing.
When I make a new profile in S3D or Flux studio with reduced speed then I am able to bring the noise level down for quite a bit.

I already tried stuff like vibration dampers and gelpad without much help.
I guess the Prusa also makes alterations on motor power output.

The ability to switch this mid print would be great!

Kind regards,
Hayo

What does the Prusa actually do when you engage that option? Is it changing the microstepping or motor current or something? I’ve been around a lot of printers, and never come across this.

FW is referenced here https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK2
But i guess its a combination of both and slowing down print speed a bit, but it only seems to slow down only a little.
